Steam didn't charge me???
So I bought Assassin's Creed Odyssey during the Steam sale. It shows up in my Steam purchase history but not even as "Pending" on my bank statement. I bought another cheap game and that went through instantly. I'm a little worried about this purchase, if I just keep it for free I could risk termination, if I refund I probably get an extra $30 I didn't have before and could still risk termination...what do??

And yes I sent a support request to Steam about this too. Nothing has came of it yet.

Just wait, some transactions can take longer to show up on a bank statement than others..

if there is an issue they will not immediately terminate the account.. they will either just remove the game from your library, or contact you through a big RED notification on your Steam Client asking you to reauthorize the payment..

issues on processing happen from time to time, and it also some times takes awhile for some transactions to show on your bank statement.. if there is a dispute, they will contact you and give you a way to make it right

Interesting. I sent them a support request at about 9-9:30AM where I'm at. 4:35PM now, and still nothing. All I know is, one game shouldn't be enough to risk my whole account being shut down.

and it won't, like I said they won't ban you for a payment processing error, at most they will just ask you to reprocess the payment..

Also, its the Holiday season.. don't expect to hear back from support this time of year for a day or two at least

Alright, I'll keep that in mind. Though I've seen people who claimed they got banned over errors like this.

when did you purchase the game? keep in mind it can sometimes take up to a full week for a charge to appear on your banking

And you were likely misunderstanding what people claimed.. they didn't get banned for an error in processing, they get banned for some form of chargeback or bank refusal (which if you made a purchase afterwards that worked likely isn't the case here) that they were either unwilling (because "I didn't want the game") or unable (because it wasn't their card they used) to reverse..

Yesterday. Literally every single time before this (which has been multiple purchases over the last three years) and after this, it's been instant, so this is new to me.

sometimes it does sometimes it does not, it depends on how much the servers were being stressed that day.. I bought a game Christmas Day that only showed up on mine last night.. so once again, when did you purchase it

be very careful on what you provide him or click on whatever he sends you.. a person responding with "add me" when a person has an issue and is asking for help is an attempt at sacmming or phishing 9/10.. if someone wants to help you, they can do it within this topic

I purchased it yesterday, December 31st. I bought another thing on Amazon the same day and even that went through, then today picked up a really cheap game which worked.
He didn't accept my request anyway so it was probably nothing.

yeah, if it was just one day you have nothing to worry about.. the more people who were making purchases (either through Steam or through your bank) the longer the transaction can take..

if you can play the game that means Steam has confirmation they are getting the money, otherwise the purchase would be shown as "pending" (in which case you wouldn't have been able to purchase anything after), or "failed" (in which case you wouldn't have access to the game)..

this is actually rather normal for online credit transactions, don't stress over it.. check back in a week, you will more than likely see it on your banking then..

yeah, and I guess I can just make sure to not buy anything before it shows up, or just stay above the alotted amount in my bank account.

See, sometimes it can take a bit, try not to stress when it takes a few days to show :)
