HELP! MSI Gaming Laptop Lag
I have recently been experiencing strange issues with my Msi Gaming Laptop.
Games like Far Cry 5 have extreme lag spikes and fps drops for no reason. I did everything - such as updating graphics drivers, changing power plan, lowering settings. I did everything, anyone know what is the problem?

Specs:
Model: MSI GP72MVR 7RFX Leapard Pro
GPU: GTX 1060 6GB (mobile obviously)
CPU: Intel Core i7-7700HQ
RAM: 8GB

I know that it shouldnt be a problem, especially in Far Cry 5 as my brother's new laptop (which is exactly the same, however has a GTX 1050 ti) it works fine. It used to work however the new settings i especially set such as changing the resolution significantly and turning off anti-aliasing don't help. Any ideas?

How are your temps while under load/experiencing these lag spikes? Could be thermal throttling. If so getting a cooling pad, or otherwise improving the ventilation can help quite a bit.

Temperature can get really high, however usually its aroung 60-80 degrees for the cpu and 50-90 for the gpu. I do use a cooling pad, and try my best to improve ventilation. But usually it is a safe temperature.
