Recording software that doesn't record steam overlay?
Hello.

I'm wondering if there's a way to record a gameplay, both video and audio. And doesn't recorded anything else but that, including music open via steam overlay.

I've tried Fraps, no option on that.
OBS studio, I think it could do that, but I got no clue.

I think a paid recording software would be a better obvious option, but I'm rather broke.

Any help you can provide is always appreciated.

OBS, StreamLabs OBS, Xsplit will all work aslong as you choose to record the specific program using either "Game capture" or "Window Capture" :D

OBS and Slobs are both free and basically the same program how ever slobs has built in twitch controls. Xsplit is not free but has most of the same options that obs does.

That should help :D That link has everything you might need to know about both streaming and recording gameplay and how to set up OBS for either of those.

OBS can be complicated but once you get the basic jist of it you should be alright.

OBS is also what most of the top youtubers and streamers use for recording and streaming their gameplay and general onscreen content.

I wasn't able to "seperately" recorded via game capture (desprited what the tutorial said, it didn't specifically tell.)

I've tried using Chrome (that isn't run via steam overlay) and test if it does recorded the music or not ingame. It went completely slience.

Then I've realized that Game capture seems to not record any audio, so I've added Audio output capture, and it seems to "fixed" the slience problem, however it records every sounds I've open, Both the game and the External Chrome.

Maybe I have to watched more tutorial on that, but I'm somewhat doubt that they would have it that specfic. Thanks anyhow!
