Why are my non-Steam games refusing to launch?
Whenever I try to launch a non-Steam game I've added to my library, the game refuses to launch and will act as if I never clicked anything. Whenever I go to play the game on my desktop, it works just fine. Am I the only one who has noticed this? Is there a fix to it or no?

Do you have any idea how I can fix it?

Did you actually target the game .exe?

I've done both the .exe and the shortcut, but neither works. All of my non-Steam games suddenly stopped working, regardless of what one I used.

What game?
Where the game installed?
Is this installed on an external hard drive?
Can you take a screenshot of the game folder showing all the files in it, if it have multiple .exe files.

Its for all of my [non-Steam] games; they worked perfectly find before but like I said, they just suddenly stopped working. Most are installed in a folder labeled "Games". Its all on the same hard drive as my other Steam games. And I don't know if that last thing will help...

Could try one of these options if you want, but before that try adding your broswer or something as a non steam game, and see if it open it like firefox, or chrome.

- Run Steam as admin.
- Opt-in/out of Steam beta.
- Reinstall Steam.

Didn't work. I'll try out some of what you suggested then, or just contact Steam support.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
