Wife cant create steam account

So.. no playing CS:GO together tonight as the steam account creation process is broken....

Steps taken:
1.From steam client, enter email address, prove human, agree to conditions, click continue
2. Go to Gmail account, click "Create My Account" link
Nothing in steam "Verify Your Email" window happens... just 3 bars scrolling by. wait.. wait.... get husband..

3. Try sign up again... this time verification link greets us with "Unable to verify this Email address!" "The Email address has already been verified, please return to account creation to complete the process". Right........

4. Try again using the web browser instead of the steam client and... same result....

How do we fix this?
Who and how do we securely send her email address to the persons that is going to fix this?

I should note that account retrieval methods do not work, as the account hasnt actually been created, that just shows us a message stating that the account cannot be found.

same problem here!! trying to create a 2nd account, using different email from the first, so a family member and i can play together. !!!!

there was no box to 'name' account.. only email so no account retrieval !!!

I ended up in a similar situation. It wasn't loading forever, but just me being dumb. I was doing it in my browser, and accidentally closed the tab that was waiting for activation.

I managed to fix it though, and these steps should help:

1. Go to your email where they sent an email verification link, and try to activate it again
   
2. You'll see the error as usual, but look at the URL. Look for the number after
   creationid=################### You'll need these numbers for the next step.
   
3. Open a new tab, paste in this partial URL:
   store.steampowered.com/join/completesignup?l=english&creationid= . Now, copy the numbers from the other tab, and paste them at the end, after creationid= .

After that, it let me continue creating the account where I left off. Hope it helps someone!
