Unable to change password
I'm trying to change my password and get to the point where I'm asked for a new password and to confirm it. No matter what I put in the error "The entered password is invalid" is given.

I've tried several different passwords using a password generator 10 characters upper and lower, including numbers. I've tried including special characters and excluding special characters. Nothing appears to be acceptable.

I understand the requirements are 6 character min, upper and lower, including at least 1 number and no dictionary words / sequences. All of the passwords I've tried meet these requirements.

I don't seem to have the option to submit a ticket so am at a loss. Luckily my account is protected by steam guard but my password needs to be changed.

Do you use any non-English characters or any unicode?

No, I tried simplifying it as much as possible in case it was too complex, but no joy.

Ah, I've sorted it. I was pasting the password into the input box. When I manually typed it, it was accepted.

Then you most likely had an empty space in the password when you copied it. A very common problem with copying text stuff. Very aggravating.

On Android I had to paste the password, add a character then delete it. Basically the web form thinks you've not entered any values.

XD
So useless and condescending Cathulhu, it will literally give you an error anytime you try to paste a password. Thank you MosesX_00 for some sanity here.

Although I've been on steam for over 14 years with one pw change, today I wanted to change my password. Then my luck ran into the inability to change my password exactly described OP's description of the issue with the error. After searching around and observing various threads of people on this topic, along with other sites before finallly finding this page, it was frustrating. A quick addition to the code on the password change page to warn people that copy/paste is not allowed would take maybe 20 seconds to make. It took me about 20 minutes of reading other places prior to getting to this page (along with millions of people too lol). Thanks to you all for sharing this, and I sincerely hope that Steam support gets someone to add a warning to the password change page. What a PITA it is for many people. Think of how many others who didn't even take the time to comment too!
