Modify a laptop's graphics card
hey there, sorry in advance for my English, I was wondering if I could upgrade my laptop's graphics card, now the common answer would be no, but my laptop has two graphics card, an integrated which is a 530 intel and an external graphics card which is a 960m Nvidia GeForce, I'd like to make it oculus rift compatible, but my laptop doesn't meet the recommended only with the graphics card, tell me if you need any more info on the PC.

Barely any laptops have thunderbolt to support eGPUs. Unless you inexplicably bought an overpriced Razer

oh ok, thanks for your answer
so do you think I could do anything else than buying a whole new laptop or building another computer just for a better graphics card, to use my pc on oculus rift?

not really, that model has a soldered on GPU from the looks of it, meaning aside from throwing in some more RAM or a bigger storage drive the machine really can't be upgraded..

its one of the main reasons people always say laptops aren't good for gaming.. with a desktop you can upgrade parts as needed when you need a bit more power, while a laptop you are out of luck 9 times out of 10.. as a result, desktops are usually cheaper and better performing in the long run..

aside from getting a new laptop, your options are rather limited
