highlighting games in library won't stop?

When I'm in my library, if i click on a game, it selects it just fine, brings up the info panel on the right and everything. but if i click on another game, it just highlights it, like text on a webpage. and if there's multiple games between the first and last one, it'll highlight everything in between. I've tried restarting steam and it didn't work, i can only navigate the library with the arrow keys.

I'm in offline mode at the moment but that shouldn't matter because it actually started when I was connected to wifi.

anyone seen this before, or know a way to fix it?

Sounds like an issue with the shift button. Shift+click highlights the games.

seems the post above might be right, but i restarted my computer because actually a lot of things were messing up, and that fixed it.
