I am still having issues with steam not verifying my login information, not being able to update games, and the content servers being generally unreachable. I have followed most of the troubleshooting steps in this link: https://www.reddit.com/r/Steam/wiki/contentserversunreachable and none of them have worked. I can't do a soft reinstall because after I delete all the steam files except the .exe and steamapps, and then run the .exe, I get a fatal error that says "Steam needs to be online to update. Please confirm your network connection and try again."
I tried:
Resetting router
Disabling firewall/antivirus
Clearing caches
Changing download region
Soft reinstalling steam (this won't work)
Running steam as admin
Disabling compatibilities (none to disable)
Winsock reset
Renew IP and flush DNS
Changing DNS server
Disable automatic LAN detection (it was already disabled)
Disable use proxy server for LAN (it was already disabled)
Scanned with malwarebytes
Ran ADWcleaner
Ran junkware removal
I even overwrote all of the steam files except the userdata and steamapps files with files from my brother's computer (who is not having this problem, and he is using the same ISP and internet connection).
None of these solutions worked at all.
