How to sync steam with games on another drive?
I recently had my pc repaired and had it's ssd replaced. All my other steam games were already installed on my other harddrive which did not need replacing.
So I got my pc back and had to reinstall steam ect. When I open steam it shows my library with no steam games installed, although they are on the other harddrive.
Please help because I do not want to reinstall my whole library again

In future, keep Steam & games together. Meaning keep Steam on your "other" drive and keep the games inside the Steam folder on that "other" drive. That will save you a huge lot of hassle.

This mostly worked for me, but the "Steam" folder on my secondary disk wasn't reading as my old library folder. I needed to rename my "Steam" folder to "SteamLibrary" before adding my second drive to the list of drives. Otherwise it just creates a brand new "SteamLibrary" folder on top of your old "Steam" folder.

There's a down-arrow on the drive selection that will open a menu where there is a "Let me choose another location" option where you can pick a specific drive and folder. The SteamLibrary folder name is the default name when you just add a drive without specifying a folder.

What you're describing is more like the exact opposite of what I'm talking about but sure, go ahead...

Since they changed all this junk around it’s actually: steam>settings>storage then click the top right plus button to add ur old libraries to steam :) it might change in the future, but that’s what works rn <3

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
