Pretty much the title, anyone knows the cause?

I believe Steam has a storage limit on how much u can upload, maybe you reached it already if you upload a lot/very frequently.

Just upload to imgur, gyazo or prtnscr, send the link and the image will show directly in chat to them.

I have mentioned "friends" not "steam cloud". Not sure if friend photos save on the cloud

You need to be clear about he process you are going through. Are you copying the screenshot URL and sending it to a friend in the chat window? Who is getting the "failed to upload" message? You or the friend?

A step-by-step example of the process would probably help here.

Before doing any of that though, make sure the visibility of your screenshots is set to public.

Hey, so I open the snipping tool, copypaste the image that I have snipped and try to send it.

It's broken, been that way for a week. Chat uploads will always fail with the message "Failed to start upload, Image failed to upload".
