Why are mods allowed to delete anything at their discretion?
I made a post and it got deleted without warning or reason and was told that it is in the rulebook that mods can delete whatever they want if it offends them. Isn't this unfair? I made a post asking why my thread deleted and the guy just said "mods can delete whatever because they can" and banned me from the forum.

was this in a games forums?

game hub moderators are assigned by the game studio behind the game.. if you feel said mod is abusing their power, report it to the studio
Because steam said so and you agreed to their rules.

yeah it was in csgo. i actually made a post just like this one in the help and support forum a couple of days ago asking the same question, and was told the same thing and then banned for spamming even though I only made one post.

probably because the forums are not the place to contest bans or question moderation choices.. first you respond to the mod itself to make an appeal, if that doesn't work contact the studio behind the game..

the forums are not the place to discuss moderation as it can start witch hunts, as well as that other users can't verify the validity of your claims

The mod wouldn't add me and had comments disabled on his profile so how do I communicate with him other than making a thread saying "communicate with me."

The forums are the place where the moderation happens; I can't think of a more apporpriate place to discuss how moderation is carried out.
thats why no one pays you to think. You can respond to the ban message itself and no, a forum is not the place to discuss your ban, its a public venue where as your ban and the reasoning behind it is private. It would be unprofessional for a moderator to air your dirty laundry publicly and you'd scream about that too.

well apparently they aren't willing to air it privately either
and thats at their discretion. They don't have to answer to you.

respond to the community notice you got when you were "banned", that will be sent to them so there is no reason to add them..

and no, the forum is not the place to discuss this as you could easily be making all this up in order to enact a sympathy plea and the actual offenses that were done could have been far worse (which is very possible given your thread in the NMS forums).. for all we know, you could have been banned for threatening someone..

we told you how to contest and appeal actions taken by a moderator, if you choose to ignore them and complain on the forums instead well thats your decision but it will only result in digging your hole deeper getting you in more trouble..

there is a right way, and a wrong way to handle such things

you said you tried to add them, as stated thats not how you launch an appeal

I don't want to be unbanned, and I don't want to respond in a comment box to an anonymous mod. I want to get into a steam chat with one of them and at least get an answer to why my thread was deleted without warning.
If you cant figure out which rule you broke without being handheld through it, its probably not worth their time to explain it.

And if they can't explain why I am getting my post deleted and my account ban, it's probably not worth anyone's time to let them remain a mod.
Logical fallacy is false. You not liking your ban =/= it not being valid
