my friend gifted me GTA V

my friend gifted me GTA V though steam but its when i went to redeem the CD code to play online, it told me it was already redeemed, i tried to ask rockstar and they told me they told me they couldn't help me so what do I do now?

The only indication is you can't do anything since i assume, it seems your friend used the cd-key for themselves and scammed you into purchasing a useless game.

You don't use the code for GTA V, GTA V has a DLC, as far as I know, that allows you to play GTA V directly, without ever touching a key.

Did you try it? Install it and start it via Steam?

You don't get a key when you get a gift through Steam, you accept it and the game gets in your library. I don't think that he gifted the game through Steam if he gave you an already redeemed useless key.

You do get a key for GTA V. Like old Ubi games, you need to enter the key in Rockstar's 3rd party launcher before the game will start.

thats what im saying the code they gave me to put in the Rockstar's 3rd party launcher has already been used.

That's not something Steam/Valve can assist you with. Contact Rockstar Support. It's their key and they refuse to accept it.
