"Clear Previous Aliases" - New Setting?

So i just noticed today when i look at my profile and open my Alias/Previous Nickname list it says at the bottom "Clear previous aliases"... is this a new feature?

i'm assuming clicking it will delete my alias history??

i uploaded a steam artwork to show this.. does anyone else have this? i checked update notes and didn't notice anything that suggested Valve added this feature, but also i know sometimes they seem to add features "quietly".

Yes. Brand new. Came with maintenance earlier today.

i wonder why they don't add everything to update notes. It's always strange to me.

It probably wouldn't have if someone hadn't published a guide on how to contact support and have them remove it.

It bugged out 2 character profile names for a while. Annoying.

It's because of all the requests that support gets to remove alias history.

They're tired of it.

I discovered it only today. Such a shame I didn't know about it earlier.
