First and cheapest, see if this Avast Driver Updater (or whatever this Avast product is called) has driver updates for you. If that doesnt help, uninstall it (it doesnt help afterall) and uninstall everything it installed. To be precise, uninstall all drivers that werent installed trhough Windows Update, except the graphics driver.
Rule of thumb: Always have Windows handle its drivers, unless you have a REALLY good reason for installing a driver yourself. A typical exception are graphics drivers as WU tends to lag behind a month or two and graphics drivers tend to be rather clean when it comes to crap like youre in right now. Unlike Intels RST drivers or not few network drivers.
The update just finished installing and the memory usage is now sitting at 28% without any other games or apps open.
I'm gonna compare the memory breakdown info now and I'll write it down here.
Before update:
In use (compressed): 6,6 GB (112 MB)
Available: 1,4 GB
Commited: 8,4/14,2 GB
Cached: 1,4 GB
Paged pool: 105 MB
Non-paged pool: 4,4 GB
Free: 60 MB
After update:
In use (compressed): 2,2 GB (55,4 MB)
Available: 5,7 GB
Commited: 3,3/15,0 GB
Cached: 3,6 GB
Paged pool: 275 MB
Non-paged pool: 108 MB
Free: ~2,2 GB
Anyway, I got my problem solved and I'll mark a solution. Start another discussion, because people mostl likely won't come here as it has been solved, I hope you figure things out!
I'll keep that in mind for the future. Thanks for the help, I probably wouldn't have figured this out myself, in a long time at least if it wasn't for your help and now that I know what caused this problem I could pass down the info to others who have a similar issue.
I'll be keeping an eye on the RAM usage for a while to make sure everything stays well.
Again, thanks for the help!
