Can't make chat window smaller

So what I normally do when I have a chat window open is have it overlaying on a youtube vid that's off to the side but small enough that I can still watch the vid while I mess around with another window. Only today that's not happen.

Today I got on and the steam chat window, both docked and undocked refuse to go smaller then a phone screen. Thus if I try to put things how I normally have them the chat blocks the vid. I've looked in settings and it hasn't helped. Does anyone know how to fix this?

cant make steam chat window smaller

i used to be able to control steam chat window size but now it seems like theres a minimum limit to the window size and its not small at all its quite long and wide how can i fix it

its stuck on minimum of 400x400

Same issue here. It used to go down to around 400x240, which was perfectly fine.
Not everyone has a 4k screen as secondary just for chat and stuff.

i hope its a problem in steam side and not in our side

yesterday everything was fine now today its all messed up

I have the exact same issue, and it bothers me for the exact same reason. I sent a support ticket, and there I said it was like previously the minimum window size vertically is like 1 inch, and now it's like 5 inches.

The chat box is too big to fit under a youtube video on a second monitor anymore, let alone having multiple chats open at once. Hopefully someone responds to this soon.

I'm actually pissed they did this. I hate, strongly, how it looks now.

I want my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ chat shorter! It overlaps my friends list now, forcing me to shorten it!

We're all hating this yet for reasons beyond us the being in charge of this ♥♥♥♥ aren't taking the hint and changing it back.
