Laptop Upgrade Question
Hey there, I'm asking if I'm able to upgrade a Acer Predator Helios 300 from a 250GB with a SK Hynix Gold S31 1TB 3D NAND 2.5 inch SATA III Internal SSD.

I'm looking to upgrade my SSD instead of going for a 1TB HDD because I don't want to lose loading performance on any of the games I play. Thank you to anyone that helps.

Specs:
Intel i7 CPU, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 256GB SSD, GeForce GTX 1060-6GB, VR Ready, Windows 10 64-bit, Model G3-571-77QK.

As long as you have an internal SATA port open, yes. But that SSD is an obscure brand, never heard of it before, buy something more well known such as a WD Blue SSD.

Oh I did some research on SK Hynix for a bit. Apparently they're a South Korean company that manufactures their own 3D NAND chips and controllers and put them together in-house. Very pricey though. They even sell to behemoths like IBM and Dell.

Do you have a budget for the SSD? I can help pick one out for you.

Not really. But I just want one that'll be easy to install and is compatible with my Helios 300.

All SSDs are easy to install. You mount the bracket and just slide it in a SATA port and screw it down. Budget?

Get a WD Blue or Samsung 860 Evo SSD. If there's an m.2 slot available, Crucial MX500, Intel 660p.

Ditto.. Looking to upgrade my laptop.. MSI 17.3" FHD / Core i9-9900K, / 64GB DDR4 / 2TB SSD + 1TB, GeForce RTX2080 8GB GDDR6 / Windows 10 (licensed)
Is this workable on STEAM and with current games on market?

Of course it is. Anything can be used for storage.
