Can an old monitor hamper my gaming expereince?
my monitor is pretty damn old. it still uses the ancient blue VGA port unlike the now commonplace HDMI.

for now it works perfectly fine with an HDMI adapter but im beginnig to wonder, if it can lead to a worse game experience

i started suspecting this when playing new games that suddenly in places that are suppsoed to be just dark or in a shadow, are now pitch-black and almost nothing is visible. could it be my monitors fault for not being fully compatible with my GPU?

both of my monitors use display port , hdmi is old too

if the gamma slider isnt all the way down , it probably is your monitor , the fact you had to use an adapter also says this

Very much so - everything you are doing is heroic in effort. But the newer cards have almost forgot what VGA needs - (The techs not the cards). (like newer car mechanics don't get carbs)
Not an expert - but I ran into the same problem 3 or so years ago. Maybe some one can give you a better explanation.
