Hi all, first things first, I'm making this in the hopes to build up a detailed list of what works and what does not with Proton through my own testing and also through others who wish to contribute. take note that there is no guarantee that because a game works for someone that it will work for you, I have 3 gaming computers in my household all with different hardware and it has resulted in some games working through proton on some but not all of my computers, could be software or hardware related of which I have not determined completely yet.

Note: if you have issues make sure your drivers are up to date, See buttom of this post for steps.

hair tie (Fix for this in Forum), rotfiend and wild hunt hounds missing textures
resulting in invisible monsters, Blood and Wine DLC Spoiler some of Regis and Dettlaff's vampire transformations texture are missing, example: faces and Dettlaff's final transformation is missing all textures making him invisible - Avg 60 - High

Driver Setup Help

Step 1: open a terminal window and enter the following commands

For Nvidia GPU:
Step 2: "sudo add-apt-repository ppa:graphics-drivers/ppa"

For AMD/Intel GPU:
Step 2-1: "sudo add-apt-repository ppa:paulo-miguel-dias/mesa"
Step 2-2: "sudo apt dist-upgrade"

For Nvidia/AMD/Intel GPU:
Step 3-1: "sudo apt update"
Step 3-2: "sudo apt upgrade"

For Nvidia GPU:
Step 4-1: "sudo apt install nvidia-driver-396"
Step 4-2: Pay attention to the result of above as it may fail to install due to missing dependencies files and if it does install them as well starting with one with kernel in the name if listed using the same "sudo apt install" command.

For AMD/Intel GPU:
Step 4-1: "sudo apt install mesa-vulkan-drivers mesa-vulkan-drivers:i386"
Step 4-2: same as Nvidia's 4-2 step, keep an eye out for missing dependencies

For Nvidia/AMD/Intel GPU:
Step 5-1: reboot PC
Step 5-2: opt in for the steam beta and wait for update to finish and should be good to go

Were you ever able to get Geralt's hair to render correctly? I've installed the game and he's basically got a shaved head with a knot in the back! Wtf!

Yes, I turned off Hairworks and it fixed the missing hair for Geralt

I would like to say thank you valve and all other companies involved with this technology. Its amazing. I swtiched back to linux because of PROTON. So far a good portion of my game library works. But some newer titles like Street Fighter5 do not work and I would love for you guys to work on this game. I am a huge street fighter fan. I will keep trying other game titles and see if they work and continue to post feedback when I can and new findings if I find any to help you guys and everyone else on steam out. Cheers!!!!!
