[HELP] Controllers not working on any game (Steam/Big Picture issue)

Seems from yesterday, I cant play any game because when i open the games (And with the games closed) if i try to use the Controller (A Razer Raiju PS4 controller) they dont work, Dpads dont work, LB makes appear Big Picture Input (Even on windows), RB makes the mouse run away, triggers seems to control the volume...

The controller its ok, i tryed it on PS4 and works perfectly, i tryed too to put other controllers (I have an old Xbox 360, and an old XboxOne controllers for PC) And they did the same issue. Also i saw, it just happen when Steam is ON (If I turn it off and forceclose it, they work normal, in outside Steam Games)

Please Help, i cant play anygame, and are my last days of vaccation :(

I'm having the same problems since the last update. Steam can't detect my wireless xbox one controller (adapter). My PS4 controller still works with bluetooth through DS4 windows, but it has to be turned on before steam starts, otherwise steam breaks the driver and it has to be reinstalled completely.

I was in the Steam Beta before this happening.

Right now its even worse, if i plug my Razer Raije, it just prompt a fatal bluescreen with some drivers problem (It didnt happened me before) and with the others controllers i still have the same problem.

I think thats whats happening to me now too, but i dont know how to unistall the current driver...

Try going into Big Picture Mode->Controller Settings->Define Layout and rebind the buttons/axes of the controller. You could also try setting it up in PS4 mode with Steam as described here: https://support.razer.com/console/razer-raiju/

I've been having problems ever since Steam started pushing these big picture controller updates.. it is always hit or miss. Couldn't get any buttons to bind in No Man's Sky. Now American Truck Simulator thinks my Xbox controller is a keyboard.. total mess, worked fine for years before the updates

It doesnt work for me... some buttons like L2 and R2 doesnt work, I cant rebind those two.

Same here than Xurxo #7 response, it doesnt work, and seems they are bind correctly...

same problem here, xboxone controller problems can be mitigated by rebinding the definitions and it works, but when you save the profile you just send it away to valve and you can't load it anywhere so everytime i restart steam i need to rebind my definitions... and bigpicture wont work even when doing that. so whats going on here?

real annoying bug, i opted into beta did not change anything, I don't even understand why you feel the need for steam to handle the controller it works just fine on its own? its been working for years.

I have a raiju too.

Remap all the buttons in big picture, settings, controller settings, define layout. Inputs may not work sometimes, usually the triggers. I just unplug and replug plug and it will eventually recognize the input when remapping.

This is temporary and will not save after a reboot for me. This is what I've been trying to solve now.

Can you test with the latest beta? This issue should hopefully be resolved.

For now, i had to force unistall all the drivers and reinstall all of them after the last steam update... Now woks sometimes, somegames works, others, its not recogniced, or randomly stops to work and starts to make sounds like "big picture" was open and cant use the controller anymore until force close the game and open it again.

fix this steam you idiots, xbox controller donesnt work, locks up steam. im not purchasing games from you trash can platform because your trash software locks up when i try and use my xbox controller + wireless usb i spent a lot of money on

then after steam locks up it takes 5 min to finally crash the process so i can start it again. then i start it again and it takes like 10 minutes to start again! its like a never ending hell that i cant believe you havent noticed yet and are letting it go this long. i've been having this issue for weeks now

Which beta did the issue start happening on? I don't think that your issue is the same as the OP's issue as that was resolved.
