'Steamgames.com' tried to take 4 charges of 100€ from my bank account while I was having dinner

I received 4 different messages from the bank telling me that I had purchased 100€ in 'Steamgames.com'. The 4 messages where at 22:31, 22:31, 23:32, 23:32, while I was away from my computer. I hadn't even bought anything from there lately. It was totally by surprise.

The bank didn't accept those transactions so my account wasn't charged, but I canceled my card just in case.

Do you know why did this happen?

Someone either has access to your card or access to your Steam account. It's not unheard of for hackers to sit on a stolen account for months without the owner knowing, just waiting for their opportunity to scam people.

If I was you, just to be sure I'd change my password. Scan my PC for viruses and ask my bank for a new card with a different number.

Contact your bank and try to chargeback the transaction.
Also steamgames.com has nothing to do with steam or valve. Someone is using your account and you have to act on it fast.

steamgames.com is often used by Valve for billing.

Still doesnt have to be valves doing.
Someone (scammer) could quite easily use steamgames.com as description of their transaction. And misdirect the user. As explained here.
