Downloading and free space on disk - question

let me start off by saying my internet is really ♥♥♥♥♥♥
so i've been downloading witcher 3 (46.6 GB - so like 3-4 days)
I was basically halfway through and then Steam said "not enough free space on disk"
and the download just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reset to 123 MB...
will it like magically come back to what it was since it did ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ download didnt it?
quite pissed rn cause of this, looking forward to any answers on this

Providing you didn't delete the files, the installation will look for already existing files and continue from where it last left off.

If the patch files were nuked and regenerated, the DL progress is FUBAR.

Otherwise, Steam should just contine from where you left off.

well it seems to go from the 123 mb's as mentioned
when i look in steamapps "Witcher 3" folder is empty so idk
could you tell me where exactly are these files if not in steamapps?

Steam doesn't immediately put the files into the respective folder when downloading.

The process is simple.

1) Download a small delta patch that keep tracks of DL progress.

2) Download the files to...

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\downloading

So, check that same area.

i feel dumb af right now because i literally dont know what you are talking about :D
where can i start downloading that delta patch?
sorry that I make myself seem like an absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥, but looking on the bright side it might help other people with the same problem

This process is automatic, i was just reiterating how it works.

As per your previous question, you will find the games' download files in the directory that i linked above.

The delta patches are created by Steam automatically, just don't worry about any of that.

Oh ok, so far I've resumed the download and it did download about 4 GB but still it seems like it goes from the beginning. However when I looked in /steamapps/downloading there were about 30+GB of game data for Witcher 3, so maybe it's just a display error?
