how to move previous game to new library
due to limited space in my C drive i move my default game instalation to D as this following steamsupport instruction

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7418-YUBN-8129&l=english

and i want to move my already installed game in C to D. i thought that it could work simply by moving gamefiles from C/.../steamapps/common/"game name" to D/.../steamlibrary but it doesnt work
(steam redownloading old games to C, new games are working fine)

how do i do it ?

Did you actually create the new installation path?

If you didn't, Steam will re-download games to your previous path.

yes i did, all new games now downloaded to D

so right now i uninstall my old game and it removed instantly (ofc, C has no files :) ). when i reinstall i have slight hope when launcher says "detecting game file" but still i have to redownload the whole game

all guide i found was for old steam version, maybe this feature suppossed to be automated as the button in those guides are removed, and i got that "game file discovered" message but it seems not working properly

Move the appmanifest (acf) file associated with the game.

Yeah, the ACF files are important, or else still will think the games aren't installed.

After you've moved then, restart Steam.

Rightclick game, choose properties (it might be something else, can't remember but the option at the bottom of the drp-down list), from there you can change the directory.
