How to fix this problem without changing your preferred overall windows display or text settings.

1) Exit NVIDIA GeForce Experience

2) Locate the NVIDIA GeForce Experience.exe file. It's in typically located in C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\NVIDIA GeForce Experience by default. Search if you're not sure where it is.

2) Right-click on the NVIDIA GeForce Experience.exe file in Windows to make the context menu appear.

3) Left-click on "Properties" in the context menu to open the file properties.

4) Click the "Compatibility" tab at the top of the properties window.

5) Find and check the checkbox next to "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings". Or whatever similar "high DPI scaling" option your version has.

7) Click the "Apply" then "OK"

8) re-open NVIDIA GeForce Experience

This should rid you of that pesky mini-duplicate window/floating overlay glitch.

I just fixed that issue on my pc.
Follow this.. It is because of text scaling. I had mine set to 125%, that was the cause. I run windows 8.1, not sure if you run the same but here is my fix. I looked everywhere for answers and now I am finding those who I saw never had an answer! You most likely have it set to 125% as well, or more, change it back to 100%. On my 1080p monitor it makes text so small but, it is what it is..

Actually I think I fixed it again. Change the scale to 100% and change it back to your default 125% fix it.

awesome, glad it worked. I just left mine at 100%, but you can confirm that changing it again still works? Must be a bug on install, it see's the 125% as 100%.
I ended up removing geforce experience after finding the fix, last time I saw that issue I just never bothered but had some time to look into it.. it was rescaling the entire window with smaller text so I thought I would give the above a try, saw it worked so here we are. I wont be streaming again so I uninstalled it. cheers

Welp the fix is temporary. Changing it back to 125% and starting your pc back up and the glitch is back. I don't really care anymore tbh. I only uses GE for the recommened settings and updating my gpu.

And now changing the scale doesn't work anymore.

Holy crap this actually finally fixed the problem but you're a kinda late lmao. There wasnt a checkbox for "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" but I went to change high DPI settings and checked "override High DPI Scaling behavior" and it worked for me.

Thanks for the help!!

hehe, I was pulling my hair out for like a year trying to figure out how to fix this.
Every place I found onlinewas suggesting changing windows text settings which quasi-fixed the problem. Of course that also means you have to learn to live with undesirable text/font sizes for everything. Figured I'd spread this around to as many places I could find the question on how to fix this :)

Damn props to you man. I had to like carefully calculate where the button would be because of the glitch and it was annoying. I hope people find this post and get it fixed. It was literally an easy fix too I shouldve thought of that. Thanks for helping me again.

Oh my god, Kuno. Thank you so much, you are a life saver! I had this exact problem, and I had trouble just updating my drivers and other problems, but your instructions fixed it.

Just one thing: My checkbox reads "Disable fullscreen optimizations". But, it worked, and I would never have found it without you!

It worked for me to just press run troubleshooter in the compatibility section of the properties menu and from there it was magic

thank you very much for the detailed solution, my friend.
however, on windows 11, it's slightly different than that and i had to figure that out by myself.
for the step 5, you have to click the box that says "change high DPI settings" and another window pops up. in this new window, there are two boxes that you can put a checkmark in. ignore the first one and check the box in the bottom. a dropdown menu appears, select "application" on that menu. and that's all.
but again, i wouldn't even have tried the DPI option had you not mentioned it so thank you again.
and also, thanks to OP as well, becuase this was literally the ONLY post i could find about my problem. six years later, i had the EXACT same problem OP has shown in the picture and i'm SO happy that i solved it with you guys' help.
have a nice day/night or whatever it is there!!!
