Will my game progress save whilst using family sharing?

For some context, I had accidentally purchased a game onto my other account so I had to enable family sharing to play it on this account. Will the progress be saved so when I purchase the game for this account I don't have to start from the beginning or will I have to start fresh?

Yes, the saves will carry over should you purchase the game yourself on a later date.
