Pssh, I can't even charge my brand new one by cable, or at least if it is it's certainly not telling me with the power light. Native bluetooth works though, once. Pair it and it works. Turn it off and it'll never connect again until I remove the bluetooth pairing.
Bluetooth settings seems to suggest it's successfully connecting but the controller never gets the go-ahead like it does with the first connection.
I'm just here to say that of all the fixes that were mentioned here, THIS is the one that worked for me. I don't know why, it just worked. Connected my SF30 Pro, let windows set it up, then tried my Pro Controller and... it works now.
before i install a new windows 10 version, it was working just fine
don´t know what to do
I was having this issue and nothing here worked as well. What ended up working, and don't ask me why, was to plug the cable after pressing the sync button at the top, and then press lots of buttons continuously. It started blinking and, at some point, light went solid and Windows detected it and I could play.
After that, it gets automatically detected when I plug it in again.
thanks but i don't know what i did, but now it is working, but the blue light in home button was turned off, after a few days went on, don´t know why either lol
Tried a bunch of other stuff in this thread, this is the one that did it for me. Just plugged it in after holding the reset button then I button-mashed everything I could find on the controller. A few seconds later when I gave up it all connected.
What all did you try please?
The most common mistake is people not knowing the difference between their usb cables. Charge vs Data Sync. Data Sync usb cables do both. Charge cables are just that, charge-only.
You need your own usb type-a to usb type-c cable that is data sync kind. If your Desktop or Laptop has a type-c port on it then you could use a type-c to type-c /male to male cable.
Nintendo Switch and Switch Pro controller are plug and play on Win10/11. If you want to do it through Bluetooth, that's a bit more complicated. But if you have Win10 20H2 or newer or Win11, you should have no problems using it in plug and play mode via a USB Data Sync cable.
The fact your PC doesn't see it (look in device manager and joy.cpl) then this tells me you are using a charge only usb cable
I've also tried just about everything on this forum and others and nothing seems to be working. I've reset the controller, turned on wired connection, disconnected all controllers from switch, turned off switch completely, held the button down then connected, vice versa, button mashing, installed Betterjoy drivers, and NOTHING WORKED :(((.
The messed up thing is that I have a third party controller (it's old and broken now) that used to be my primary gaming controller that when I first got it was a simple plug and play. I decided to see if that was the case still, AND IT IS! (One of the sticks drifts like crazy) but it works perfectly fine! and is recognized by my computer and everything.
(link to controller: https://www.amazon.com/Enhanced-Controller-Nintendo-officially-licensed-light-up/dp/B08WXZ22KW/ref=sr_1_16?keywords=power+a+switch+controller&qid=1668756848&sprefix=power+a+%2Caps%2C133&sr=8-16)
The closest I've gotten to this thing working is that I have to connect the controller, restart the computer and leave it connected. Then the charging light comes on and sometimes blinks, but that's it. As soon as I disconnect the controller or press the Sync button on the top the light is gone and won't come back. I'm losing it over here, can someone please help?
in my new build it won't even charge but only when the device boot to windows , when i enter the bios menu it starts charging and the orange light on top turns on , when the windows boot it starts flickering and the moment i press any key it turns of
It should work with other cables but the cable has to be a data-sync cable and not a charge only cable. If you go to use a usb cable with a controller and it doesn't show up as a device on the system, that's a charge only cable
Luckily I have this issue only with the pro controller, but all other controllers work as of now.
The pro controller is just not appearing in the Bluetooth devices and this is odd. My Bluetooth adapter even displays NO devices until the pro controller stops searching, it is so strange.
The suggested way with the sync button and the Nintendo cable does work for me, but as I play on a 65" TV, I don't wanna use the cable.
someone said to go into device manager and try updating the usb drivers, which i tried
checked all of them and there were no updates available, so - whilst device manager was still open - i just tried plugging in the controller again and, for some reason, it just worked perfectly
it seems like a completely nonsensical thing and might have zero correlation whatsoever, but if you're having this problem then try repeating this: opening device manager, checking for updates on all your usb drivers, and then plugging in the controller
while the controller is plugged in with the usb cabel, i restarted (not a full shut down; restart!) my pc.
after restart, everything woked fine.
