How can I sort my games in library WITHOUT ignoring "The"?
Hello there,

im using Steam for so many years now, but what I'm really hating is the alpahbetical sorting when "The" (or german "Der, Die, Das") is ignored.

How can i deactivate the ignoring of these stop words?

I want, that the game "The Elder Scrolls..." is in letter "T" and NOT in "E".

Yah, i can make categories, but this is not the kind of solution I'm craving for! oÔ

Thanks a lot for any help.

There is no way.

Making categories for each of your games in alphabetical order as you want would work but then you would have a category per game in your library.

It is fairly easy to remember that certain words are ignored especially if you know a game is in a certain category too.
At least you can search the

Thank you, but this doesnt help me.
I have around 1750 Steam-Games and many of them starts with same letter. So, they are bad sorted again (when e. g. 200 games are in same category).
Addiotionally, I'm using already categories for another usage (like "good game", "dont play again", "my all time favorite" and so on).

As I told in the beginning, im using Steam for many years now, but I still have problems with this damn "feature". I'm hating this so much and its just not possible for me to ignore. :(

Any other ideas? Maybe a mod or an app? Of course nothing that could kill my steam account or giving me a VAC ban.

I have categories like 'Finished' for games I completed and need never play again, 'Free' for the games I got for free from various sources, 'Star Wars' for all the Star Wars games and '1000+ hour games' for games that are essentially endless.

Remember that you can put one game in multiple categories too. Also you have way more games than me so maybe I just don't have as much of a problem with it yet.

It's the common convention when sorting titles to ignore the, a and an. Just because 2/3rds of any library would end up under T and A. <smirk>

They could add the option to let the user set the behaviour, but don't hold your breath, thread from 2013: https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/10/864969481796726264/

You're in a minority desiring sorting in such a manner and Valve doesn't seem to be in a hurry to cater to you.
