Now, the exception of course is when you start adding third-party files, or addons, like when playing on custom servers, there used to be exploits in goldsrc and source games which could be pretty damn detrimental, but those get patched out pretty quickly. [and if you were playing on official servers, virtually 0% chance anything like that could happen]
Never had an issue with mail.ru in the decade I've been using it and I'm not Russian.

It seems to be known safe. I'm not sure. I saw "29% dangerous" in one source.
So I renamed it MRACSVC RU SPY.exe ... so if some game requires it I can quickly restore.
Also, please note:
* I found MRACSVC.exe under \Windows\System32\ instead of under \Drivers\ ... which is where most articles listed it
** Under \Drivers\ I found a variant: mracdrv.exe which I also renamed for safety.
