Locked framerate at 120 fps(9 out of 10 times)
So i have this problem that my laptop is locked in a 120 fps, The wierd thing is that i am sometimes able to unlock with(in csgo) Max_fps 300/0. Now that is only when i am lucky because most of the times i doesn´t actually do anything at it is still locked at 120 even though i am able to get 200+. And it is in all steam games. my monitor is 120hz but that shouldnt affect it

The things i have tried:
Make sure geforce experince is not capping my framerate with battery booster

geforce driver doesnt have Vsync enabled(global settings)

Game bar/game dvr crap is disabled

game does not have Vsync enabled

I wanted to try and enable screen optimization mode, but for some reason i can get acces to the compatibility tab in any of the games not even when i go to the games exe. file

and everything is set to maximmum performance

Any ideas would be highly appreciated

Unless your laptop has a 200htz monitor, at 200 FPS, all your doing is paying for 80 frames to get thrown away every second.

If you have a 120htz screen, your monitor will never display more than 120 FPS, regardless of how many hundreds of frames your GPU is drawing.

Yes but it will draw the most recent frame. so lets say OP can produce 240 fps on a 120hz panel. That means every second frame is drawn and the first is dropped. In competitive games this is good because you always see the most recent image.

OP have you compared whether Laptop being plugged in affects the cap?

Well my laptop is always plugged in when i am playing. So i haven´t tried too see if it still caps it, but i would suspect it will.

Some laptops cap performance when not plugged in. Even if Windows power options are set to maximum performance. So it's not that if it's always plugged in.

There are many games out there that have framerate caps so things like physics and tick based mechanics don't get screwy. Perhaps this is the case.

yeha i know, but when it happens in game like Csgo it doens
t make sense( that is also mostly the reason why i want to figure out why it is capped)
Dont you have riva tuner statistics server installed.... i got this problem but my friend fixed it by reseting riva to default where i had fps locked to 120.... embarrasing but it worked
