Can't connect to store through Safari

Hi guys, looking for a solution if anyone can help.

I have recently purchased a MacBook (wiped and reset to factory). I have downloaded Steam having previously used windows.

Steam cannot connect to the Store and i am unable to download games. It can not connect to the internet. They Steam Store website is also blocked on Safari, however i can access the store through Google Chrome.

I have tried many suggested solutions including certificate settings, clearing history, re-installing once Chrome is set as default browser but to no avail.

The message from Safari is "cant access as Safari cannot establish a secure connection".

If someone can help me either secure a connection through safari or allow me to run through Chrome it would be a huge help. I have also tried turning off my firewall setting with no luck.

All suggestions welcome.
