New Steam Chat, Unable to Invite Friends to Games
Hello, me and my friends have been having problems dealing with the new steam chat since its public release. Though I'm sure we'll get used to it with time, there's one issue that neither me nor any of them managed to solve yet: we have no idea how to invite each other to games while playing online.

On the old steam chat, we just had to right-click on a friends' name and the 'Invite to Game' option would be whitened-out when inside a match, but on the new steam chat this is no more true. We can only invite friends while outside a game by right-clicking on the friends' list in the steam overlay's friends list, but that one gets limited to friends inside the current match as soon as it refreshes itself, so it doesn't really work out in the end. Right-clicking in the new steam chat on a friend brings a drop-down menu with no 'invite to game' or other similar options. We never, ever saw this option appear in the right-click menu in any of our online sessions... I can invite them to watch me in a stream, but not to games. We really can't wrap our minds about how to do it. I spent more than one evening on google and reddit looking for people with similar issues, but my research led to no results... so here I am, asking for your opinion about it.

To avoid any confusion, I'll say right now that we've only been playing with Chivalry: Medieval Warfare online, which is a old game, so I'm not sure if the problem comes from the fact that the new steam chat does not support it (we create private matches or 'listen servers' and play there). Unfortunately, trying other games at the moment is not an option (my friends have only a handful of games in their library and Chivalry may as well be the only one we all have, and even if it wasn't they don't exactly have enough patience to keep testing and troubleshooting for hours, lol), but even if it this is the reason we've encountered these problems... at least knowing how inviting to games works in supported games in the new chat would be appreciated, so that we can act accordingly in the future.

If any of the above is not clear, I'll try to reword. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Write to support to let them know that you need a setting for "enable display of ingame status" as private profile to be able to invite people to games..

Thank you for your answer. I'll try to write to support and request the feature.

If you want to use the old Steam chat ui, you can do it
Open the Steam.exe properties and add this two commands -nochatui -nofriendsui
It should look like that
Target: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe" -nochatui -nofriendsui

Thanks, I may as well use this as a temporary solution while playing online to send invites.

The invite doesnt work in both ui.
Because for any reason invite needs ingame status published.
