steamwebhelper.exe = 159 584 K
steamwebhelper.exe = 93 476 K
steamwebhelper.exe = 37 292 K
steamwebhelper.exe = 4 596 K

Steam.exe = 230,076 K
steamwebhelper = 63,xxx K
steamwebhelper = 140,xxx K
steamwebhelper = 10,xxx K
steamwebhelper = 278,xxx K
steamwebhelper = 318,xxx K

It definitely is using more since the new UI update.

End the extra tasks.

FWIW those are actually the Working set values, shown under the Details tab in Task Manager on Windows 10. The Steam Client Bootstrapper is showing 143.9 MB under the Memory column in the usual Processes tab.

I think if you are going by the K values, you should probably be looking at "private working set" rather than the straight "working set".

I have the same on my PC and all I did was start a game .
Can some one from Steam please explain why there are between 4 and 5 instances of Steamhelper running at the same time . I sure its not necessary .
So come on Steam fix it FFS , its causing connection issues in Path of Exile and causing slow downs and freezes in Witcher 3 .

Well, I think 1 or 2 steamwebhelper processes are actually part of the new Friends List UI for starters (because if you terminate them, the friends list refreshes entirely).

You are kinda right though, garry. The new Friend UI does have a problem with the internet connection in some games, due to some kind of new connection method it uses which they seem to not like. It has also caused slow downs every now and then in...a number of games, actually.

After reset computer by AdwCleaner, It's down to 150 MB usage average.
But I think with time, STEAM eat more to more ressource example after 3 hours...

I'll tell you if he eat more or not just wait
