MSI Afterburner causing game stutter.
I have been getting the occasional micro stutter in games. I have traced it to MSI afterburner. It is slightly better if I make sure all monitoring and fan curves are disabled but it is only fully cured if I completely close it. The issue I have is that I run an overclock on my card(not worried about fan curve). If I click "Apply at Startup" but don't have Afterburner actually running or loading at startup, will the overclock still apply itself?

You don't need AferBurner running no, the overclock will apply itself. AfterBurner technically runs briefly at startup to apply the overclock and that's it. You can see it's entry in Task Scheduler if you want to.

You do need afterburner running to maintain your custom fan curve though or it with default to Nvidia's.

Yeah I have discovered that one out. My card runs a few degrees hotter but still within safe limits so I can live with that one.
