Anyway to contact a non-bot steam support agent about refund request?
Bought Monster Hunter World and experienced major frame rate issues. Spent a few hours trying to fix based on suggestions on forums/reddit. Now my play time shows over 2 hours as I had the game open for that long. But I haven't really played it.

Can't get a real person to review my refund request. Keep getting the automated message that my refund is rejected because my playtime is over 2hours?

Anyway I can get someone to review my case?

Once a game reaches over the 2 hour limit a real human bean takes a look at the rfund request.

No.

You've gone past 2 hours - due to running the game.

The policy is clear and fair.

Accept it and move on.

Its pretty strict rule. Rarely they do refund after time limit. After 1.5 hours of trying to "fix it" you should had realized to refund it imo. Also we or them dont necessarily have to believe youre telling the truth.

Exactly.

Support has had the final say in the refund request.

There's really no need to keep requesting a refund or its revival.

You did get a real person they just pressed the button to give you the standard reply for your situation instead of wasting time typing out an individual one.

Steam does make exceptions to their refund policy.

Everyone who is denied a refund should follow up with a regualr support case requesting a review.

No everyone shouldn't doing that does nothing but clutter the system with tickets and exceptions are extremely rare and require a very good reason including strong proof that the issue is with the game and not the users system just not being up to spec.

You have some statistics to back that up?

Even 1 exception means everyone should try it.

I am pretty sure case like OP's even with proof woulda been declined since its his machine issue and not games or developers. "I dont like game/I cant run it / I forgot i had it on so its past 2 hours" dont think that ever worked with support tbh. Exceptions are rare and unique as one would guess.

Here is a thread that shows a person getting a refund with many more hours than the OP in this thread.

Again, do you have statistics to show they are "rare and unique"?

Guy has proof and contact with the dev. Op just has his word how he over 2 hours "tried fixes from online". Which doesnt need to be true. I can say that for every game i dont like nowadays.

You should look up the meaning of rare being able to find one out of hundreds of requests does not show it to be anything but rare.

The fact he was also in touch with the developer means there may well have been special permission given by the for the refund which is one of the major triggers that allows them.

You should look up the meaning of unique.

I know what both words mean.

I'll keep advising everyone to try a support request as long as Steam makes any exceptions.

By the way, I just picked the most recent thread I had posted in telling people they didn't qualify for a refund and then they got one. There are many others.

It's not for you or me to judge. Thus, filing an actual support case is the only way to know for sure if you qualify for an exception.

He and you are fully entitled to do anything you like. Just like we who disagree or act on evidence. Afterall it doesnt matter what you or me say anyway. What support says matters. But some things you can figure by common sense also. Cases where its easy to lie and without proof and already declined many times by support is a clear no as in OPs case.
