And maybe, its about a porn game you were playing and dont want people to find out.
Dont act as if it was obvious while it isnt.
Every few months I like to start all over with certain games including stats. It's annoying that Steam does not allow the full game and stats reset.
This is not a new topic it's been an ongoing thread for years.
Can you tell me how you can set the hours you played a specific game to friends-only or private? Thanks!
use SAM ( steam achivement manager )
, you are not the first that want to remove a time index or lock it after 1000 hour maybe.
and i dont care if this is tic tac toe or adult gameing
and whats the point in make all privat profile , then most game is not a issue.
just because i like skyrim or shogun2 , im pretty sure i will not tell rest of the world i have spend more then 1000 hours in them, and i bet other have same view.
then all steam profile goes dark in private profile whats the point even have option on players that have it( great another player with no info to tell.
Step 1. Open the Steam Console tab.
There are a variety of ways you'll find online. I prefer to have it open automatically when I start Steam. Do this by creating a shortcut to the Steam startup file (if you don't have one already), then in the shortcut's properties;target section, add a space then -console on the end.
Step 2. Find the App ID of the game you want to reset at the steamdb.info website.
Step 3. Type the command to reset all stats, then a space, then the App ID of the game into the command line of the Steam Console tab, then hit enter and... Poof! They're gone.
Example:
The command is: reset_all_stats
For the game "Middle Earth: Shadow of War" the App ID is 356190.
So, to reset all achievements for Middle Earth: Shadow of war, the command is:
reset_all_stats 356190
**You will still have trading cards earned and some stats like time played.
***There are currently only a few ways to totally get rid of all the stats you've racked up for a game. The easiest way would be to buy Valve Corporation and order them to do it. The other options are more difficult. An elaborate con to convince Valve that your game stats need to be wiped. Complete world domination, mind control, or become a master of time and space, etc.
Achievements can be messed with via the Steam Achievement Manager (or SAM for short), but be warned a handful of game devs will give you a game ban for messing with the Steam achievements, it is very few but they are there.
The SAM is a third party program so it is also a use at own risk type of thing.
Note that the SAM ONLY effects the achievements on Steam, they will not be effected in-game, if the game has its own built in achievement tracking system.
You can reset achievements with the Steam Console tab. It's pretty easy.
Instructions, short version:
1. Open the Console tab of the Steam desktop client (see below for details).
2. Type: reset_all_stats
3. Add a space.
4. Add the App ID number of the game (find this at steamdb.info).
5. Hit the Enter button.
That's it. Oh, yeah, btw, please send me the full detailed list of the reasons why you need this. HA! Yeah, right. Who cares! Chaos Baby! Light it on fire! Or soak it in a bubble bath. It is chaos after all. Anyway, I hope this helps.
Instructions, longer version:

**You will still have trading cards earned and some stats like time played. You can't completely get rid of all your stats unless you buy the company, or through some similarly outrageous fantastical means, but at least you can reset your achievements pretty easily. You can also reset just 1 achievement if you like. There are many more options available with the Steam Console tab. It's pretty handy.
