Multiplayer games issue -Please Help-

i am completely wracking my brain trying to find a solution to my problem.
so to jump straight in, this has happened on multiple games on different systems between me and a friend.

the games it has affected most recently are endless space 2, endless legend, total war attila, and if i recall correctly warhammer 2, as well as divinity 2.

we can join a game and play together just fine, however once we hit above 50-75% through the game, save games just seem to stop working altogether, and usually some sort of multiplayer or online message comes up saying timed out, or unable to join such and such.
also trying previous saved games seem to just stop as well, with same issue of unable to connect, or timed out, or not able to join multiplayer session, i am always hosting.

does anyone have any idea what the issue might be?

my friend has a new system and we havent tried all the in question games, but endless space 2 is having this issue right now, and on last system, the other games mentioned had this issue, yet we have never had any issue with total war shogun, or civilization games, divinity 1, etc.

and doing tests our download speeds are both 50-70mbps, upload is 10-20mbps, and latency is 20-50ms (varying)

both systems are fairly decent and all games are being run on lowest quality/highest performance settings.

It's most likely that your connection to the server you're joining isn't stable and your latency and/or connection to it gets so weak and slow it doesn't communicate fast enough to keep you connected so your connection to it drops. That, and a server being so busy it can't keep up with everyone on it, are some things that cause time outs.

Choose another server. Either host your own games (if that's possible in the game(s) - I don't have those games so I don't know) or find a server that has the lowest ping to both of you to join.

all of the mentioned games i host, and they, mostly, all work up to a certain point, we managed to load a roughly 80% complete game we couldnt reload all of yesterday this morning, went about 10 turns, saved as friend needed to pop out, tried to reload and now same issues again, just stating multiplayer unable to load/timed out, during loading.
becoming very frustrating, have even tried opening ports that i have found for steam and mentioned games, on both firewall and router, still no luck at all.
could understand if they didnt work at all, just heavily frustrating to get so far into the games to have them crap out every time.
