Steam Keyboard keeps opening on Gamepad
While playing games the steam keyboard keeps opening up on random button presses. Also when I press R1 my mouse pulls to the left and right click.

I've gone into steam -> Settings -> In-Game and turned off the 'Use the Big Picture Overlay when using a steam Input enabled controller from desktop.' And didn't help.

Also steam -> settings -> controller -> desktop configuration (which didn't work until I went into general controller settings and turned on xbox configuration support). And deleted everything but nothing ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ works.

I do not have any problems with steam off, I can play other controller games not attached to steam no problem, R1 does not move my mouse and none of the key presses open up that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ keyboard because steam is off.

How do I turn this ♥♥♥♥ off in steam its making the games unplayable.

Disable Steams input mapper which, not fuether surprsingly, you can do from the Steam settings.

Sorry I can't see anything labelled input mapper would you mind guiding me on how to find the options?

Its not labeled "input mapper", its labeled "configuration support". Which is, however, nothing but an input mapper. I like calling things what they are and not what some PR wacko decided to call them.

Yea I disabled everything the keyboard still pops up and the mouse still gets moved around by R1 and L1.

I also have everything unchecked in general controller settings. Like I had all this time.

This screenshot doesnt clearly show that the input mapper is disabled. But lets roll with it, are you in the Steam client beta?

No I shouldn't be I never opted in for one. It says not participating in settings -> account.

What gamepad is it anyway? And what software did you install to use it? The reason im asking is that R1 isnt the nomenclature used by XInput gamepads and non-XInput gamepads arent supported by the vast majority of games.

yknow what I think I got it fixed thanks for the configuration support idea.

I had to go to settings -> controller -> general controller settings, check on 'Xbox Configuration Support', then hit xbox Configuration under Detected Controllers at the bottom, went to define layout and reinput all the keys. A couple of keys for some reason where misplaced, not sure why. When steam was turned off my games worked perfectly and up until a few days ago had been working fine for years with steam.

Btw I was using a PS4 controller with DS4windows software.

Jesus Christ, Steam is so close but always so far from perfect. STOP TAKING CONTROL OF MY ♥♥♥♥ IF I DIDN'T ASK YOU TO, STEAM INPUT MAPPER. THE ♥♥♥♥. I don't need things to think for me. Especially not this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ drivel. 6 weeks of this ♥♥♥♥. ♥♥♥♥. Not y'all. This thread has been my only legit lead worth chasing. So thx. 🫶🏻 Not Valve tho. Valve can eat my ass with expired mayo on a 100+ degree day in Florida. 🫠🖕🏻
