Question about "ROW"/Region Restriction Game(s)
I am one of many who happens to be a game trader on http://www/steamtrades.com and i don't personally trade games but i do happen to take advantage of some killer trade deals involving cs:go/tf2/pubg crate keys for games. I have acquired some valuable titles that are also high-end in popularity terms, is there a website or a request section or any way of finding out if the traded games i have activated on my account are actually "ROW"?, sometimes some traders said to me that the only restriction was on the dark souls games where they regionally lock japan or something out of activation/redeeming/playing.

Just a little nervous that i may of wasted quite a bit of time/money in acquiring good deals for good games. Also, if i run any game and notice a region lock or a region restriction would i know? Would i have to rebuy the game(s)?

If a game has any region restriction you cant even accept the gift.
A restricted game in your library will also refuse to download/install/play with a "this peoduct was purchased in a different region. Since you are currently not in that region this product is not available".
Something like that.

BUT, 90 days after activation any game in your library loses all its restrictions. So after that time has passed you can download/play that game everywhere in the world, even if it was originally region locked.

Thanks, i am assuming that seeing the cd keys/steam keys activated just fine on my account i should be in the clear, i know that game trades can be tricky especially when dealing with steam keys/cd keys or any product keys as they can be charge backed/refunded and or have other means of making the game go *POOF* without our knowledge until we go to play that specific game

AFAIK and acording to steam FAQ if you try to activate a region locked key it will prevent you from doing so and giving you a warning that the game is region locked.

Perfect i did not know that little part about activating/redeeming keys. So after 90 days of acquiring the game whether i already know its row 90 days means absolutely no locks/restrictions/regional crap whatsoever, cool. thanks guys

Not entirely while you will be able to play it anywhere if it has allowed you to activate it after that time content that may have been cut for that region will still be missing and it can cause difficulties later if you are trying to buy DLC and they aren't compatible because of the regional difference.

This is true if an activation IP lock has been specified prior to your attempt at activating / accepting. I've had one game sent to me before that only had an play IP block. So Steam let my friend gift it to me, let me accept the gift, and then presented me with the fact that is unplayable in my country. You'll know if a game is play IP locked as it will disappear from your installed games even when installed. It'll appear properly after the 90 day wait.
