Downloading at 10KB/s-50KBs.
Why is steam downloading so freakin so?

Is it just on one particular game? It's possible that your game is unpacking the files and is downloading at a slower rate. You should see a little blue bar under the game's name in the downloads tab. See if it's progressing. If it's moving, then it's unpacking the files and is downloading at a slower rate.

Doesn't seem to be just Rift. Doing it on torchlight II as well. It unpacked them last night. Rift is currently at 2GB out of 28GB it started to download a little after midnight.

Check your download settings then. Select the region closest to you (it usuallly does this by default) and make sure you don't have a cap rate on.

Closet region was set to Denver. No cap on download speed.

Try rebooting your Router. If that doesn't work contact your ISP.

I've had this issue in the past where my 100mb connection would go down to like 1 mb connection or less until I restarted the router. Quite annoying.

I also tried changing the server, since Google said to try that. Didn't change the download speed at all.

Yeah I think it's down to rebooting your router as Zefar said. If you can, try a wired connection. See if that helps.

So, it seems like it's on steams end. Downloading rift from trion and it's going 1mbps.

What you might try doing, is clearing the download cache. Keep in mind, this will delete any games that are partly downloaded. So if it doesn't work then you'll have to start downloading from the beginning agian.

Hmm... That seemed to help alittle bit. Doing it at 300KB/s-536KB/s.
