What games have been affected with Windows 10 1809 Update ?
I was just curious if any one had problems with their games. I checked all my games they load up just fine except Home Sweet Home which i have no control with keyboard, mouse or controller. I have to do the control ,alt, delete to bring up task manager to kill the game. Thanks

None. Really if anything it’s improved performance so far for all my games.

Installing it is safe too. Just opt to keep your personal files and apps as well as opt out of having it automatically upgrade drivers and system files from online sources during the installation.

A lot of my older titles on source ports don’t like game mode. Quake Darkplaces in particular hates GameMode. But everything else works fine.

Yup, performance is better. 1803 was buggy, all seems good now with 1809
I tested it via clean install.

Like any "Feature Update" though where your OS changes from one entire build to the next, now that you are on a whole new build (i.e. entirely new OS) I would advise to dump all the Drivers and redo them fresh again. Such as uninstalling all Motherboard Chipset Driver stuff and GPU stuff from Control Panel > Programs and Features. Course it is easier to wipe out all those simply using the DDU app and select each brand and click "clean but do not restart" for each. But for DDU, be sure to select the Safe Mode > Restart option. As you do not want to do that in Normal Mode.

But of course before you do, go download all the latest drivers first for these, so you have them on local disk already before messing with anything.

Drivers will not be an issue. All you have to do is select "Not right now" when the installer asks if you want it to find additional windows updates and driver upgrades online.

That's not what I meant, you shouldn't be allowing the OS or WU to handle Drivers anyways.
I just mean if they are outdated, wipe them clean and fresh install all the latest Drivers.
Such as NVIDIA 416.16

Well didn't mess up my games I guess, but messed up my whole PC. Anyone else get this issue?

Got a "Driver State Power Failure" BSOD multiple times when opening most games or even google chrome. Did a clean install of the last GTX 980 gpu driver trying that hardware first and so far so good. Been about 3-4 days now with no problems on any of the 6 or so games that I have currently installed that I tried out.

Ok so you had driver issues, not OS issues.

True, it's just a pain when I didn't want to fix what wasn't broke sort of speak and especailly not at that time. Actually lost money due to it. My performance was good, everything worked and my PC basically did what I wanted it to do. I understand updates were needed, but they're so innconvient sometimes and I swear I was really busy with home offiice work when it all started and it held me up that whole day between the updates and then fixing the problem after crashing a few times.
