I have two games says UPDATE it's needed.... i noticed it's always in scheduled.
I have tryed to START the download manually but nothings append:
- I see the download speed can't reach 1KB/s
- The download it's be stop immediatelly after about 10 seconds
- Nothings it's been download and i see it's be put on scheduled again.

How i can fix ? How i can do ?

My OS it's Windows 10 Home (problably the last build) and in the pass the download it's works as good...... never obtain this problems. And now ?

This has happened to me. The problem is file and folder permissions in windows and the fix is to create a new folder somewhere else other than your current steam library directory and re-install the games that are doing this there.

When it happened to me I messed around with trying to fix the permissions but they just wouldn't stay how I set them no matter what I did. This is an issue Microsoft knows about but has yet to fix.

You don't have to install your steam games in the directory where the steam.exe is. They can be installed anywhere. When you create a new folder the permissions are automatically signed as owned by that user...that's the easiest and fastest fix; making a new folder.

Wait a moment... how i need to do exactly ? Re-download all my games ? OMG no :(

I have steam installed on D:\Steam\........ all games it's on D:\Steam\steamapps right ?

Where do I have to create this folder ?

You can try going to Steam > Settings > Downloads and clearing the download cache.
That might do it.
If it doesn't what I suggested before is your only option. It shouldn't be ALL your games doing it. You said it's only 2 of them.

You can create the other folder anywhere. Doesn't matter where it is as long as it's not inside the current steamapps folder.

mmmmmm... i have already tryed to use the "Clear Cache". It's close and reopen steam and i need to relogin but it's not help.

About the "new folder" i don't have understand what's i really need to do:
About this two games i need to uninstall this and reinstall on another different folder ?

I have right now tryed to download a games from my list..... for example i have tryed to install normal "Day of Defeat" and after some seconds steam say to somethings like "No connection" but it's a fake warning because internet it's ok or i can't be here to reply :)

Inside the settings there's a "Steam Library Folder" i have tryed the button "Add Library Folder" but it's say i can't add a library folder because steam already have Steamlibrary folder in this drive (actually D:\Steam it's selected).

There's apparently no ways......... how it's need to create a different folder ?

That could be because the servers might be busy right now. If that's what it is the only fix for that is trying again later.

mmmm...... it's only two games right now ask to me to update but currently i have 10 or more installed and if in the future all make this problems it's impossible and i can't reinstall all. DAMN :)

Meantime i see i can't add another folder........ if really need i really need to install steam on C:\ and games on D:\ but it's no my preferred ways...

At last... You think it could be the cause of all the clogged servers ?
Jack Schitt Oct 2, 2018 @ 8:36pm
It's possible it's because the servers are busy at the moment, yes.
It only happened to me with one game, once. I didn't have to move and reinstall ALL my games. Just the one it did it to.

Ok but how i can choose another folder ? Steam say to me i can't create a new folder on D:\ because this drive have already a SteamLibrary folder and i can't have another drive to use.
Apparently on a single drive you can have only a steamlibray folder.......
In your case... you have installed steam on C:\ and games on D:\ or another different drive ?

The strange situation it's...... about two hours ago i have played "DOD:Source" for about one hours whitout any problems.
Before that i have obtain a SELF UPDATING of client and there's be updated whitout any problems........
Apparently it's only problems whit this two games update......

Go do your D:\ and right-click on an empty area
New > Folder and name the folder whatever you want to name it

When you download/install the games again click the browse button and choose the folder you created.

I have tryed... i can't select it.
I have created a folder D:\Steam Games\.
I have tryed to download the first HALF LIFE (i have but now installed on this pc).
It's appears the windows says the size of games... below It's only two choice avaible:
- Install on D:\Steam
- Create a New SteamLibrary on C:\

How i already say.. apparently it's not possibly to made a double folder on same drive...

Problably it's no more possible to do at today.......

I see what you mean now. The new update to the client changed this.
Go to:
Steam > Settings > Downloads > Steam Library Folders (button on the right) > Add Library Folder

Then you should be able to select that location from the list when you go to install.
