High ping
Hi I have a gaming laptop it’s around a month old and I used to have very good ping (2ms) for nearly all games now for the past week it’s up to 40 to 50 ms I haven’t changed the server or anything and my internet is still showing good signs (100mbps) (11mbps for downloading games)

You'd have to be extremely close to a game server to get a 2 ping. 40 to 50 ping is actually not bad. It is also dependent on where the server is you are connecting to. If I test my ping to a server about 80 miles from me I get a 17 ms. A server about 500 miles from me I received a 20 ms. If I ping a server 1300 miles from me I get 54 ms. 1700 miles from me, I'm getting 67 ms. I have 200 download and 20 upload as my speeds just to give you an idea. 40 to 50 is high if you live near the game server you are connecting to, but it isn't bad if there is a bigger distance.

I’d be fine if I didn’t have any issues but it’s gotten to the point where if I’m playing a game like rainbow six siege I’ll always be the last one to load in, and it’s like that for every game

Are you sure it was 2ms cause that's basically like living inside the server.

Yup

2ms ping is like others say, you must have been close to the server, nextdoor to it. Being the last to load into a server is not just about ping. A person with a 200ms ping can load into a server faster that someone with a ping off 1ms. All it takes is faster, CPU, Gpu, Ram and SSD than the other person.

Basically a potato with a low ping will get in slower than a Beast PC with a higher ping. Most of the info you need to load into a server you get withing a few seconds all the rest is your hardware processing it.

Check and monitor your hardware. If stuff is going on in the background its these that are slowing you game loading times not your ping.

Oh and when download games in Steam it is usual set to show MB/s not mb/s. it's 8 mb (megabit) per MB (MegaByte). So I suspect you 11mbps for downloading games is actually 11MB ( 88mb) which is pretty close to your 100mbps.

Also a 1/2mb connection can get same ping as a 1,000GB/s connection. Yes the GB will get more data in 1 second but the time it takes to reach the server and back is the ping. So 2 systems next to each other connecting to the same server will get the same ping regardless of there internet speed.
