Help with disconnecting with a specific friend

So I always have been disconnecting just with a specific friend of mine in every game imaginable that isn't server based. We live in the same town and everything and within 1 minute of joining we always disconnect. Is there anything I can do with my or their router settings or just anything to save from this always happening? Thank you for any help.

If it's only an issue with this specific person then I can only imagine he's on a very unstable wifi. Ask him if he can connect to his router with an ethernet cable and see if that helps.

They use ethernet while I just use a WiFi adapter for my PC. What’s odd though is that I can play with plenty of others online. But this one specific friend I cannot connect stably with without a disconnection happening. Server based games we can do fine. But p2p, nothing. I believe the same is for them. They can connect and play with a variety of people easily. But myself, not a chance.
