Can't change target location for steam game shortcuts Windows 10
Hi there, I have windows 10 and I can'y change the target location for all desktop shortcuts except steam games. Anyone know a work around or how to change that? I click properties and shows a different panel than when I right click/properties on other shortcuts not related to steam.

You can't do that with any shortcuts created by the Steam client itself - you'd have to manually create a shortcut for each game that you want to tweak and edit that one instead. Why do you need to do this anyway?
Ok to manually create it and edit it how do I do that? Through the steam application itself? And I've got a mod for a game and I want to create a shortcut so it loads that mod when I click that specific shortcut
Oh, I get it - fair enough. The easiest way is to go to the game's entry in your library, right-click it, bring up the properties panel and check the local files tab for the 'Browse local files' option. Clicking that will open the game's base directory in Windows Explorer. You're OK from there, right?
Nah probably not then, would you kindly tell me how to change th!e target location for the shortcut in the game files? If that's what you're getting at hahahaha sorrry
Ah, you need to select the game's exe file (or maybe the launcher's exe if it uses one) then right-click it and select 'Send to' followed by 'Desktop (create shortcut)'. That will get you a standard desktop shortcut that can run the game and you can change the target directory for that. Hopefully the mod instructions are clear on what to do next.
