genx: generic gamepad right joystick only has horizontal axis
so this is kinda hard to explain, but i will do my best. i was playing a game and i though i would try and use a controller of mine so i got out the genx: generic gamepad. i got it all set up and when i went to play the game i couldn't move the character's sight vertical. i went to game config and i made sure that the right joystick wasnt on horizontal only and still didnt work. so i switched the joysticks so that walking would be with right instead of left and i was able to look around in a vertical axis and horizontal axis as well. i dont know what to do

Most games dont support this, only XInput devices.
But first, check if all axes are working. Windows' gamepad control panel has a function for that.
Once youve made sure everything works with the gamepad itself, set it up using Steams input mapper.

a lot of my games say that its supported by the controller. like if i use a xbox controller it will work for some but this is like an xbox controller but not. and if it isnt supported it just says that the controllers config need to be toyed with or whatever. and also the vertical axis is the one not working and i dont know how to get to the windows gamepad control panel.

Where you able to fiix this??
i have the same issue but with another brand of generic controller, this one is like play station controllers, it´s called KAI PING...
i connected it i configured it in big ppicture mode, it´s NOT on horizontal only, but never the less when i play, the right joystick, configured for camera, doens´t work vertically...
everything else works fine..
i tested the controller on DOLPHIN EMULATOR, as it has a section where you can map inputs, and the input is there... so it´s not the controller..
i already have had this issue 2 years ago, with the same controller (well not the same, but the same brand), at first had the same issue, but in a moment the vertical axi started working on the right stick..
but i don´t remember doing anything fr that.. and the configurations on steam are the same...
i don´t know what´s happening...
HELP

Disable Steam's input mapper and set the switch to XInput.
