Overcooked lag spikes despite good specs
I have higher than the recommended specs, my video card driver is up to date as well. I have tried the lowest setting and the lag is still there, it's literally unplayable. I actually had this same problem on Overwatch and never found a fix ;_;

Specs:
OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-5700HQ CPU @ 2.70GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.7GHz
Memory: 16384MB RAM
Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX970M

I would really appreciate the help, I've enjoyed this game from what I've been able to play
Edit: You don't need to bash people for having a laptop, I don't have any room for a desktop in my tiny apartment.

"This game" ? You're posting in help & tips now for steam and game related problems. Steam doesn't just sell one game, it sells thousands. This subforum is for general problems related to steam and games prior bootup.

If you have a problem with a specific game, please post in the 'specific' game forum.
You can either rightclick the game in your library and choose "Visit/View forum" or search the game here : https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/#games

Since it's lagspikes or performance issues, you should repost this in the game you're talking about and find game specific fixes first. If that doesn't fix any issues, check out your hardware:
https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/11/

Btw, Mobile variants do not have the same performance rates as their desktop related hardware. So don't expect top of the line ultra graphics and no hiccup performance if you're gaming on a laptop.

I'd also like to point out that a 970m =/= gtx970. It's significantly weaker.

"Significantly weaker" it doesn't mean the game shouldn't work.

Hey now, no need to be a prick. I've never made a thread before and I didn't know there were game specific forums. I'm not expecting top of the line ultra graphics, I stated that I tried the lowest settings and was still having problems. If you're going to be an asswipe, do it somewhere else.
Also this "game" I posted the name in the title.
Everyone makes mistakes, but you don't have to assume I'm being anything you call me out for. You can remove that post and post in the correct forum.

Or should I close my post with "have a nice day"?

You are though. You can't just assume that people have money and space for better things. I do not, and you clearly didn't read my post properly.

You still haven't even said the game.

No, but depending on the game it might run like crap.

Everyone else would still tell you to post in the game forum, even if the game title was plastered all over the place.

Also, editing the game's name in title after complaints and then calling people out on that is kinda lame.

Have a nice day, bro.

The game is in the topic, can anyone read? :/
Also, the specs are above the game's min. specs.

I didn't edit the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game's title in. You must have missed it, but you fail to admit you made a mistake. I get it, it's a guy thing.
Some laptops have 2 GPU's, a bulit in intel HD one (very low powered) and the deadicated one (the gtx970m in your case.)

Check to see if this is the case and make sure if there are two the correct one is being used.

Past that check your drivers are updated and post in the overcooked forums as they should be able to offer help.

Your i7-5700HQ CPU isnt a CPU at all. Its an APU (Accelerated Processing Unit). An APU is a combination of a CPU and a GPU. Search on your computer "Device Manager" and open it, it should look something like this
https://gyazo.com/6d43296939fe35d6ecdbedd94e5003e0
Click on display adapters and you should see two, one being the APU's GPU and the other being your graphics card. When you see the 970M one click it and press this little button
https://gyazo.com/43c092c702e20bd502072167f3f615a8
After scanning for newer drivers disable the APU's graphics and enable your 970M. If the problem persists you may have a memory leak causing either your RAM or HDD to be constantly on 100% or very high loads. If this helped a +rep is appreciated.
You still haven't right clicked on the game in your library, selected "view forum", and posted there.
