Can't invite friends and they can't join me

Hello,

When I launch a game on steam, my friends don't see that I'm playing it, I can't invite them and they sometimes can't join me. Inviting me works most of the time. The games I'm playing do show up on discord. I did a little research but none of the solutions seem to be working for me. I already reinstalled Steam and reset my pc.

Can you please help me?

Change your privacy settings, set game details to friends-only or public.

If anybody still encounters this error and tried the usual stuff (check and update privacy settings, re-install steam, check lan settings and the other stuff....):

Had the same problem too. Fix for me + friend: Remove friendship in steam and add as friend again. Worked like a charme.
