"Hello,
Thanks for reaching out, I see that you are experiencing a content server error while trying to install Fallout: New Vegas. This error indicates that Steam is not able to find or communicate with the content servers in your selected download region. This issue could be caused by a local network, software or hardware conflict on your end. It could also be the result of issues affecting a Steam content server in your region.
However, it's most likely due to the increased stress on our servers due to the Summer Sale madness where everyone is attempting to download their new games all at once.
Our Update & Installation Issues article has steps for resolving this issue, but I recommend paying attention to the following sections of that article, as they pertain directly to the error you are experiencing:
Refresh your local network
Clear your download cache
Change your download region
Investigate various anti-virus software
Investigate other programs and services
Test your online connection
If you've tried all of these and are still encountering the error, please continue to test for the next day or so. It maybe that our servers just need a bit of time to catch up.
I appreciate your patience.

So this tells me a few things:
1. They know it's a problem.
2. There isn't anything that we can do about it because we've tried all the normal fixes.
3. As long as the server didn't take a crap, it'll eventually work itself out.
4. With how long this has been happening, it's likely something they'll have to fix.
Since this has been happening for me since last night, I'm going to assume that we're going to be in for a long wait for a fix. Just as I was getting into Tale of Two Wastelands, too.
(I posted the same thing in another thread, but this is easier than redoing all of it again.)
Very much appreciate this friend. Thanks for the info
Honestly, I just want some answers other than 'not able to communicate with the server'. I mean, I get that part. I'm not dumb. What I want to know is *why*. If it was just overloaded, I'd be able to get through sooner or later. But it's been at least 36 hours now.
