Friends keep getting notifications that I get on a game? (can someone please close this.)
Whenever I play with friends on games, it keeps telling them that I am currently getting onto a game, as in the notification keeps popping up for them every few seconds, is there anyway to stop this from happening?

He can dissable it by clicking on Steam on the upper left coner > Settings > Notification and unchecking the boxes;

It is a known bug.

For the Chat beta users, the settings are no longer in that location. They are here...

No I mean all my friends get a message saying im in a game as im already on it so an example would be that if im in a match on csgo with a friend of mine, they will keep receiving the notification that im now on csgo but this will happen with all my friends. Im guessing they wouldn't want to turn off their notifications just cause of me so is there no way to fix this and ill just have to let it happen?
I see, does it happen only in CS:GO? No you have anything to monitor your conections? Maybe you get offline a micro second for Steam then come online again, causing a notification. You can also fix it by hiding your in game status, just go to Profile > Edit Profile > My Privacy Settings > Game details.

Im not sure if it only happens on csgo since its the only game I really play with friends. I don't think I have anything monitoring my connections and im pretty sure steam doesnt close while I play. My game status is on private already so im guessing its not that.
I don't mean that Steam closes itself, I mean losing conection to Steam.

I'm getting the same thing it sounds like, my friend says he keeps getting notifications I am playing Monster Hunter World while we are still playing online.

"Hey there,

Thanks for reaching out to Steam Support, given that the issue does not carry over to another account on the same PC it sounds like a change to your privacy settings could resolve this issue for you.

To do this, open your Steam Community profile. This can be done either in the Steam client or on the Community webpage. Select 'Edit my profile' from the right hand side of your profile, then select 'My Privacy Settings'.

From here you can choose the privacy levels you'd like to set for your profile.

Steam Support
Luna"

This is what Steam support replied. So i changed all privacy settings and then changed them back and it worked.

Myself and several friends are having this issue, but steam is acting like this is our issue or non existent. Non of us have bad connections either. Seems very related to CSGO. I've reinstalled steam and had no luck. Pretty crappy CSR's from my experience. One of them told me to wait for it to fix itself or bring it to a local pc repair shop for them to examine and fix.... lol

Weird. I have been having the exact same issue. Going to try the privacy thing, like the steam support reply. Hopefully this helps.

I still haven't managed to fix it. Tried the solution posted in this thread.
