How to completely reset Steam Controller settings?
Yes I know, I'm a heretic for using controller on R6 Siege - I just installed CS:GO last night, and tried to get a controller to work. I had to open up steam in big picture and configure my controller. Took a while to figure out, but eventually worked, and had a couple games learning the ropes.

This morning, I've tried going onto R6 Siege, and all the controls work save the right stick, and when I managed to get that working the sensitivity is set to be super high

Any idea how to reset the controller settings to before I started fiddling last night?

steam -> settings -> controller
and libaray -> right click on game -> edit steam controller config

go thru all tabs and set to defaults

if using a link or home streaming controls, steam overlay needs to be enabled for the remote controller to work

There's no "set to default" by name, theres setting-to-default-in-spirit actions you can take.

I found this page due to No Mans Sky controller config being switched to Steam Controller Config after the most recent update. After attempting unsuccessfully to map multiple actions to a button (I wanted to switch the Run and Scan actions on the sticks, I haven't figured that part out yet) I decided to go back to the game defaults as it already had multiple actions to the right stick.

These steps may be true other games but this is specific to NMS. When at the page where you see the controller and it says Official Configuration for No Mans Sky, press X (I use xbox one/360 controller), hit recommended, then select one of the two options. It instantly applied it and I decided Ill figure it out how to change the config later. Hope this helps, cheers.

CSGO has separate matchmaking for gamepads making it as fair as wheelchair basketball.

I saw it myself when I was still playing CSGO. Don't get me wrong, I don't exactly support the concept. My analogy is intentional, playing FPS' with a gamepad feels like disability and I wonder why anyone would voluntary pick being tied to a wheelchair when they have a functioning pair if legs.

You just need to go to the button you want to change, then on click action, and at the bottom click on "toggle multi-button on", then select the actions you want and done ;) hope it helps

You helped us both fix the most annoying control decision in the game! Thank you, so much!

I want to add, if you're like me and you were trying to find the options for NMS within the game using the Remap Controls option within the game, it opens what I can only describe as a broken version of the controller config menu. It does not list the shortcuts or button prompts to do things.

I was baffled why I couldn't find an option for toggle multi-button.

Leave the game completely, in Steam (not big picture mode) look to the right where there's the "Links" list (Community Hub, Achievements, etc) at the bottom it says Contrller Configuration. THAT is what you need to use to get the damn thing working properly.

I'd been bashing my head against a wall for nearly an hour until a friend helped me with that.
I also came here because of No Man's Sky. Clicking right stick to run makes absolutely no sense to me, but changing the right stick action was removing all of the other button actions. I am so glad you guys are smart. Thank you for helping me fix this frustrating issue. Steam really has to step up their game with this controller config thing, it's bananas.
